Ruth

Ruth Koleva is a Bulgarian Soul, Funk, and Nu Jazz singer/songwriter.
Ruth's passion for music began at an early age. At 9 she made her singing debut performing for the Minister of Tourism & Sports at the Bayok Tower in Thailand during a highly publicized awards ceremony. By 13 Ruth was competing regularly in vocal competitions throughout Europe. At 15 she signed with visionary manager and concert promoter Joe Fletcher. Together In New York, they recorded her first demo of original music with legendary producer Martin Briley (Elton John, *NSYNC, Daughtry). In 2006 Ruth began collaborating with producers from a wider range of musical genres including drum and bass, broken beat, house, liquid, dub, and hip-hop. In the summer of 2007 she was admitted to the Hollywood Pop Academy in
Los Angeles, California. While in L.A. Ruth worked on tracks with Carlos Neal. In 2008 Ruth returned to Bulgaria to graduate from high-school. During the summer, she shared the stage with Grammy-Award Winning Singer Bobby McFerrin during a performance in Sofia. In October 2008 Ruth began collaborating with the band Unlimited, together they released a promo album in the spring of 2009. Ruth's first solo single called "Blizo"(Closer) was released in October of 2009. It reached #2 on Bulgarian Radio Stations. The song was voted #237 Greatest Bulgarian Songs of all time. In 2010 Ruth Received 6 nominations in 4 categories for the 2010 BG Radio Music Awards. In September 2010 a single under the name Nyree was released, it was called “Scream my name”, the song entered MTV's World Chart Express on 29 of November on 8th Place.
Ruth currently lives and is working with musicians in Amsterdam. Her debut album "Within Whispers" was released in April 2011.
